Bestival Prices

Bestival tickets are not cheap and it’s one of the more expensive festivals around.  You won’t find yourself paying the same as for the mother of all festivals: Glastonbury, but a ticket for Bestival will cost you around the same as for Reading or Leeds.  The Bestival festival organizers do put a hell of a lot of effort into this festival though and it’s also one of the better organized. If you find the thought of Bestival ticket prices a bit alarming, try looking at it as a bit of a holiday instead – if you think about getting accommodation on an island for four days for under £200 then it seems like pretty good value!

So what’s included in the price of your ticket?  Well, basically it’s your entry into the festival site and a camping plot.  Everything else you need to account for separately.  So what can you expect to pay for all your festival essentials at Bestival?

  • Tea/coffee £2 – £3
  • Water/soft drinks £2 upwards
  • Can of Beer £3 – £4
  • Cocktails £5 upwards
  • Main meal (pies, fajitas, noodles etc) – £6 – £10
  • Burgers £5 – £7
  • Chips £2 – £3
  • Breakfast £3 – £5
  • Ice cream and cakes £2 – £3

Depending on how much you like festival burgers, most people allow for a budget of around £30 a day for the food alone.

Other hidden costs to take into account include the shuttle bus (£5 – 8) or the taxi (£10 – £30) from the ferry, cigarettes, rizlas, milk, toilet roll, painkillers, plasters, wellies etc.  If you want to make sure you avoid running up huge costs on little things like this (all of which will cost more than they would in your local supermarket) then take them with you.  The only thing you really don’t need to lug to the campsite with you is water as there are plenty of free taps on site.
